Conference Fundraising:
This year, to build support for the AIHA conference and to help us with outreach, we are asking AIHA members and others who care about the association to take ads in this year's conference program or simply to make contributions. We are in the midst of an effort to expand AIHA membership, to improve our communication with members through our Web site, revamped newsletter and other means, and to expand Italian American studies by connecting with other organizations and by publishing a peer-reviewed annual volume. Please make and encourage others to make whatever contribution you and they can, to sustain AIHA's work in preserving and enriching Italian American culture.

EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS: JULY 15, 2011
Please address proposals to gguida@citytech.cuny.edu
In the subject line, please write: “AIHA Tampa Proposal.” Please use the proposal forms provided below. Confirmation of proposals will be by email. Those not having access to email should send proposals to The Calandra Institute (address below).

Proposals for panels, roundtables, and individual presentations should have titles and be no more than one typed page in length. Proposals for panels and roundtables should include titles and be no more than two typed pages; and should include brief biography of each presenter and participant with his/her affiliation, address, telephone number and email address.

Presenters can engage in one scholarly and one creative writing event at the same conference: not more than one of either type. Presenters may, however, chair or serve as respondents for additional events.

Presenters who will require computer, video or audio equipment, should request it as part of the proposal. We ask that only those who know they will need such equipment request it, as resources are limited. We cannot guarantee equipment if requests are made after the deadline for proposals.

Those interested in serving as chair or respondent for a panel or roundtable should notify the program chair, George Guida (gguida@citytech.cuny.edu), by July 15.

Limited travel subsidies are available for graduate students giving presentations; send inquiries to Roseanne Quinn: quinnroseanne@deanza.edu.

All presenters must be members of the American Italian Historical Association, by July 15, 2011. For membership details, see the AIHA website at www.aihaweb.org. Membership dues should be sent to The Calandra Italian American Institute, Queens College/CUNY, 25 W. 43rd, 17th Floor, New York, New York, 10036.
